We hope everyone is having a good week so far. The Inner School Championship was a great success and all students did an excellent job. We would like to congratulate all the students from both the Woodbridge and Manassas branch that participated this past Saturday.

Please take notice of the following announcements:

1. Make-Up Class & Make-Up Exam on Sat.2/24

YCTA will be having make-up class this Saturday @10am only. Students that will be taking their make-up exam this Saturday, will be @11:15 am.

2. Spring & Summer Camp Open for Registration

YCTA’s Spring and Summer Camps are now open. If you would like to sign up your child, please let us know as soon as possible.

3. Buddy Week Starting from Mon.2/26 – Fri. Mar.1

Students are able to bring any friends or family members that have never done Tae Kwon Do before with them during their class for a free trial lesson. For more information please feel free to ask one of the Masters at the end of class.

4. Black Belt Qualifications & Exam Schedule

Qualifications for Black Belts and Bodans will go on until Thur.Mar.9. Black Belts and Bodans’ preparing for their exam must study their questions as soon as possible. If anyone has questions about which numbers to study, please ask one of the Masters.

1. Inner School Championship on Sat.2/17

This Saturday YCTA will be holding the Inner School Championship, but with a change in schedule. Both Black Belts and Color Belts will start @ 10:30am, rather than at separate times. If anyone is interested and has not turned in their registration form, we ask if you could do so as soon as possible. 

2. Early Class on Mon.2/19

Due to President’s Day, YCTA will be holding morning classes and no evening classes. Please take a look at the attached schedule for these class times.

3. Spring & Summer Camp Open for Registration

YCTA’s Spring Camp and Summer Camp Early Bird Special,are open for registration, and the following links are for the registration forms for the camps:

4. Black Belt Group Exam

Black Belts and Bodan’s that took the preliminary exam are now starting qualifications. Please take a look at the attached form for the Running Test and Main Exam dates.

1. Last Day of Color Belt Qualifications is Thur.2/8

Please note that there will be no class held Fri.2/9 or Sat.2/10 due to the Color Belt Exams. All students that will be taking their exam either Fri. 2/9 or Sat.2/10 must return their exam application form by Thur.2/8, otherwise a $5 late fee will be applied. 

2. Black Belt Groups Start Qualifications from Mon.Feb.12

Please take a look at the attachment below for all the important dates for the black belt exam.

3. Inner School Championship on Sat.Feb.17

We encourage students to participate in the Inner School Championship to gain more experience and confidence in participating in a tournament-style competition. This will be a friendly competition between students, and if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask one of the Masters for more information.

4. Early Classes on Mon.Feb.19

YCTA will be having early classes on Mon.Feb.19 due to Presidents Day, and will not be having evening classes. Please take note of the attachment below for the early morning class times.

5. Buddy Week Starting Feb.26 – Mar.1

Students are able to bring any friends or family members that have never done Tae Kwon Do for a free trial lesson. 

6. 2024 Summer Camp is Open for Registration

YCTA’s Spring and Summer Camp are now open for registration, and the attachment below has more information about the early bird special for registering for Summer Camp.

Please Note:

Make-up Class on Sat.Feb.10 @ the Manassas Park location

For students that are not taking the exam this week, are able to attend the make-up class @10:30am at the Manassas Park location only.

We have good news that the heating at YCTA has been fixed. We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation while we were getting this issue resolved.

1. Color Belt Qualifications

Color Belt qualifications are occurring until Thur.2/08. Children’s group should be studying their questions, and if anyone has any questions about which numbers to study, please feel free to ask any of the Masters during class.

2. Make-Up Class @ Woodbridge Location Only

This coming up Saturday,2/03, YCTA will be having make-up class @10am only, which will be held @ the Woodbridge location.

3. Preliminary Exam for BoDan Group

Bodan’s that were informed of taking the preliminary exam by either Grandmaster Yi or one of the Masters, will be scheduled this coming Saturday,2/03 @ 11:20am. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask Masters during class.

4. Inner School Championship

YCTA will be holding our annual Inner School Championship on Sat. 2/17. This is a chance for students to gain confidence in a tournament-style competition in forms, sparring and breaking with other students from both YCTA locations, and possibly other students from different dojangs. 

5. Strength & Agility for Black Belt and BoDan Group

Black Belts and Bodans will begin Strength & Agility 2/01. Please watch out for a separate email attaching the documents.

We have good news that the heating replacement will be this coming Friday starting between 8-10am. The property manager said that it will take about 6 hours.We got this message at noon today.Thank you for your patience and understanding the situation.
 This week’s announcements:1. Make-Up Class @ Manassas Park Only on Sat.27YCTA will be having make-up class this Saturday @ 10:30am and 11:30am at the Manassas Park location. YCTA will not be having makeup class at the Woodbridge location this week.

3. YCTA 2024 Inner School Championship

4. Fun day camp on Monday January 29 from 8am to 6:30pm  We offer a fun day camp for Teacher’s work day. Please let us know if your child is interested in in the fun day camp as soon as possible
5. Heater replacement on Friday Jan.26 – YCTA will still be holding classes, but we will allow students to wear a light jacket and socks during the beginning of class until their bodies are a bit warmed up by this week. 

5. Master JuChan Returning to KoreaWe are sad to say that Master JuChan will be returning to Korea this coming Tuesday, so we ask if students could please show their respect and say their goodbyes when they see him next. We want to thank him for his hard work and hope to see him again soon.

YCTA will be having Fun Day Camp on Mon.Jan.29 from 8am – 6pm. If anyone is interested in signing up their child(ren) for Fun Day Camp, please contact us as soon as possible.

During the holiday season, YCTA will be having a modified schedule for 12/27 – 12/29 and will have No Classes starting from 12/30 – 1/1/24. Regular Classes will begin again from Jan.2,2024.

If your child(ren) is interested in joining for winter camp, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will open from 8am.

3.YCTA’s Demo Team Free Trial

YCTA will be having a free trial lesson on Jan.12,2024 @ 6:00pm for students that are at least 7 years old and brown belt or higher. If you are interested please ask one of the Masters for more information.

1. No Classes starting from 12/20 – 12/26

YCTA will not be having any classes starting from 12/20-12/23 due to Color Belt Exams and Belt Ceremony. There will be no classes on 12/25 & 12/26 due to the holidays

2. Fun Day Camp on 12/21 & 12/22

YCTA will be holding Fun Day Camp for students due to no school for the rest of this week. If your child(ren) is joining, please have them bring their uniform, water bottle, lunch and extra snacks. On 12/22 students will also have to bring extra clothes and tennis shoes due to them having a field trip on the 22nd.

3. YCTA Talent Show Time Change on 12/23

YCTA’s Christmas Party and Talent Show will change from 3:00pm to during the Potluck after the Belt Ceremony due to a small group of individuals signed-up for the Talent Show. If you have signed-up please feel free to contact us to confirm when you will be performing.

4. Modified Schedule from 12/27 – 12/29

During the holiday season, YCTA will be having a modified schedule for 12/27 – 12/29 and will have No Classes starting from 12/30 – 1/1/24. Regular Classes will begin again from Jan.2,2024.
